About the Center for Innovation and Enterprise Engagement

The Center for Innovation and Enterprise Engagement (CIEE) is designed to strengthen and develop the innovation capacities of small and medium sized businesses interested in or already working in advanced manufacturing. In addition to the objective of developing more products and creating more jobs, the CIEE also has a goal to position Wichita as the world’s center of advanced manufacturing excellence. The CIEE provides students with hands-on learning experiences that are second to none.

Building on Wichita State University’s reputation as a trusted industry partner, CIEE engages businesses and industry to tackle advanced manufacturing challenges and opportunities with passion and objectivity. The CIEE has been working with local firms to match their needs with WSU faculty and students who can assist them in meeting their challenges. This collaboration provides students with experience-based learning at its finest. Through internships, cooperative learning opportunities, research and development, group and team based projects, and technical assistance, students learn how to become successful engineers and entrepreneurs.
