If you are interested in careers involving exercise physiology, physical therapy, health promotion, clinical exercise-related fields, rehabilitation, medicine, biology of exercise, research and academia, or graduate education in health-related fields consider a major in exercise science at WSU.
The exercise science program leads the way in promoting fitness and healthy lifestyles at Wichita State University. Its extensive curriculum, strong faculty and ongoing research make the program an attractive choice for students interested in a variety of fitness and health-related fields. As with any educational program, the faculty plays a key role in attracting students. Says one graduate who became a fitness director, "The Wichita State difference was in the relationship formed with a faculty that gave so much of themselves to the students."
Exercise science is a multifaceted field of study in which movement or physical activity is the intellectual focus. This includes exercise for improvement of health and physical fitness, activities of daily living, work, sport, and play, and involves special population groups such as children and the elderly, persons with disability, injury or disease, and athletes.
