The Clinical Practicum
The course will give the participants practical experience in dealing with diabetes in the classroom and in the clinic with emphasis on interviewing, teaching and evaluating actual people with
diabetes.
ENROLLMENT LIMITED. Please bring your white lab coats.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This intensive workshop will address the contemporary issues in diabetes control and risk reduction.
Overall goals of this workshop are:
- Synthesize the classification of diabetes mellitus for clinical use
- Identify new technologies available for diabetes management
- Incorporate clinical management approaches in simulated life experiences
- Describe adaptive behavior skills as an adjunct to current clinical management
- Incorporate concepts of dietary management into appropriate nutritional strategies
- Describe the complications of dietary management into appropriate nutritional strategies
- Supplement your study for certification.
Specific objectives will be provided on site in each session.
