Dr. Yu joined Wichita State University’s School of Community Affairs in Fall 2012. He holds a Ph.D. in Criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He also has a BS in Computer Science & Information Engineering, and a MS in Criminal Justice & Criminology. As a former military investigator, Dr. Yu specializes in lie detecting and intelligence analysis. As a criminologist, Dr. Yu’s research is mainly centered on cybercrime. Additionally, his works have also involved subjects such as criminal investigations, computer forensics, criminal mind modeling, and cyber-psychology. He values the “applied” aspect of criminology. Particularly, he likes to apply his theories and techniques to missing person investigations as well as email-related forensic analysis. Currently, Dr. Yu’s email forensic project includes the studies of steganography, cryptography, linguistic analysis, and image analysis. As a person, Dr. Yu likes music, drama, baseball, and basketball.
