Greek Activities Fair
Check out all of the Fraternities and Sororities at Wichita State during the Greek Activities Fair. Each chapter will have a table staffed with members who can tell you more about their chapter and answer any questions.

Sorority Formal Recruitment
Listed below is the schedule for Formal Recruitment for our 5 Women’s Panhellenic Sororities. In order to join a WPA sorority this Fall you need to plan on participating in Formal Recruitment. To learn more about each chapter visit their websites or check out the blog listed on the right side of this page.
All evenings start promptly at 6pm, please be on time!
Orientation and Open houses:
September 9: Hubbard Hall 211
Meet other women going through recruitment, learn about each chapter and get a sneak preview of each chapter by attending their Open House. You should be done with this evening by 9pm. Orientation is required, if you cannot attend you must set up an alternate time with the Greek Advisor, Gina Stewart @ 978-3022
September 10: Hubbard Hall 211
Activity night: a fun and laid back night where you get to connect with other women going through recruitment, participate in some fun campus activities and head to dinner as a group!
September 11: Hubbard Hall 211
This night is your first round of Formal Recruitment. You will visit all 5 chapters learning more about their Community and Campus Involvement, Service and Philanthropy. Expect to be done with this evening around 10:45pm
September 12: Hubbard Hall 211
During your second night of Formal Recruitment the chapters will showcase their sisterhood through their funny and heartwarming skits. This evening should wrap up around 9:15pm
September 13: Hubbard Hall 211
Your final night of Formal Recruitment! Preference Night! This is the most formal night of recruitment where you will be participating in the Preference Ceremony with 1-2 chapters. This evening will end around 9:00pm
September 14: Hubbard Hall 211
BID DAY!! Formal recruitment is over and you finally get to see which chapter you will be offering you a “Bid” aka-an invitation for membership! Plan on heading over to the chapter for casual activities and time to get to know your new sisters!
September 18: SORORITY BLOCK PARTY
A new tradition at Wichita State! All of the sororities will be participating in the Sorority Block Party on Omega Court as a way to celebrate YOU!, their new sisters! Plan on a bbq, dj, inflatable’s, hanging out with members from all of WSU’s sororities and a night full of memories!
Other dates to plan for as a new Greek:
September 28-October 3 is GREEK WEEK
!! This years theme is Battle of the Sexes! All competitions will be Men vs. Women with a final trophy presentation on Saturday, October 3rd. Come and compete with members of your sorority or come and join members of other sororities to compete to win the trophy!
September 28: Speaker Joe Rhea will be inspiring all Greeks and athletes at the Hughes Metroplex at 7pm
September 29: Celebrating WSU Faculty and Staff. A thank you card table will be set up in the RSC for any one wishing to write a note to a special WSU Employee. A free breakfast will also be offered to WSU employees who have RSVP’d in advance
September 30: Competition Day! From bake sales to car washes this is our top competition day for Greek Week followed by a casual evening full of sand volleyball and bbq!
October 1: Philanthropy Day! This year we will be supporting St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospitals by participating in their nation-wide Up ‘Til Dawn fundraiser. Teams of 6 sign up for this letter writing campaign. The event will run from 6pm to 1am and is themed, “Give Cancer the Boot!” Wear your cowboy boots and come ready for line dancing breaks, free food, a Best Buy entertainment corner, a nap room and much more fun while working together to support a great cause!
October 2: Competition Day 2! Men vs. Women Can Castles! All week chapters will be collecting non-perishable items for the Kansas Food Bank. On Friday the men and women will each have one side of Shocker Square and will compete to make the biggest and best can castle!
October 3: New Member Academy and MGC SHOCK THE YARD: 2009 Midwest Step Show
New Member Academy: An opportunity for the new members of the Greek community to network, learn about campus policy and how to make the most out of your time as a WSU Greek! Taught by Greek juniors and seniors it is sure to be a great time!
Awards for Greek Week will be handed out at the Duerksen Amphitheater at 5:30pm, prior to the MGC SHOCK THE YARD: 2009 Midwest Step Show. To learn more about the step show visit the Multi-Cultural Greek Council’s website, it is a one of a kind experience that you won’t want to miss. Space is limited so be sure to buy your ticket in advance!
