Dean's Scholars at their Fall Retreat

Program Overview

The Dean's Scholars program is a prestigious scholarship initiative created to encourage talented high school students from the Wichita area to attend Wichita State University. The program began in 2007 with 26 students and has grown to a group of more than 100 students. Dean's Scholars are actively involved on campus and give back to the community through the Dean's Scholars community service initiative.

Program Requirements

To participate, students must meet the criteria below:

  • high school senior in fall 2011
  • demonstrate involvement and leadership at your high school and in the community
  • willingness to attend frequent events at WSU during your senior year of high school
  • meet one of the following:
    minimum 3.25 GPA and a minimum ACT composite score of 26 (or SAT equivalent)
    OR
    rank in the top five percent of your class and have a minimum ACT composite score of 24 (or SAT equivalent)

  • Wichita Collegiate School
  • Valley Center High School
  • Wichita Northeast Magnet High School

At-Large Positions
