Chris Brooks has all of his degrees from Indiana schools: BA from Indiana-Bloomington, MA from Indiana State, and PhD from Purdue. His specialties include 17th and 18th-century British literature and culture, literary theory and criticism, and, in a development that has occurred since coming to WSU, in Film Studies. Lately his scholarly studies have found him examining the emergence of supernatural literature in the early-modern period, an interest that has found him reading papers at King's College in the UK and at the national Comparative Literature meeting at Princeton University. His motto in life is the key to his success: Life is a comedy, and he is the protagonist of a darkly comic novel.
