Jean Griffith

JPEG Image (320x437)Jean Griffith is an associate professor and undergraduate coordinator of English at Wichita State University, where she teaches courses in American, ethnic, and women’s literature. Her articles on race and white women writers have appeared in such journals as Studies in the Novel and Western American Literature and her book, The Color of Democracy in Women’s Regional Writing, was published by The University of Alabama Press in 2009. She is currently at work on a project, tentatively titled “Telling Times: Native and European American Narratives of Stasis and Change,” that will examine the ways differing theories of time have structured the depiction of American Indians, particularly since the emergence of the Ghost Dance Movement and the Massacre at Wounded Knee.
