2016 Ad Astra Conference for First-Generation College Students

The Ad Astra Conference is a two-day event for first-generation college students across the state to meet each other, share common challenges and opportunities and get information about how to better understand the college experience and society.

This conference is scheduled to be held at Wichita State University from Friday, September 23 to Saturday, September 24. More details will be shared soon.

What is a first-generation college student?

A first-generation college student is defined as a student whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have not completed a four-year degree. This means that you are the first in your family to attend a four-year college to attain a Bachelor's degree. Being first in your family to go to college is something to be proud of. We know you may face unique challenges as you begin this exciting journey and we look forward to supporting you and welcoming you to the first-generation Wichita State community!
