Mike Wood has been the Executive Director of Wichita State University's Media Resources Center since 1990. He has led the center in programming a cable television station and a public radio station, designing multimedia classrooms, providing distance education via interactive television and the Web, and producing digital promotional materials.

After completing his M.F.A., Wood worked in various capacities at 20th Century Fox Studios in Los Angeles and was a directing intern with the American Film Institute. He has written and directed a number of award-winning films and videos.

Wood has been teaching an Introduction to Film class for the Elliott School since 1995. He supervises Coop interns for the Tallgrass Film Festival and will teach a one-credit course on the films of Alfred Hitchcock in the Fall 2012 semester.

Wood’s research interest is American playwrights. He has conducted interviews with Arthur Miller, Edward Albee, Neil Simon and twenty other playwrights and is in the processing of making the interviews available on the Web.
