Esra Büyüktahtakιn Toy is an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at Wichita State University. Prior to joining the faculty at Wichita State University, Dr. Büyüktahtakιn Toy worked as a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering at the University of Arizona.

She received her PhD in industrial engineering and operations research in 2009 from the University of Florida. She has MS degrees in management science in 2007 from Lehigh University and industrial engineering in 2005 from Bilkent University. She received her BS in industrial engineering in 2002 from Fatih University, Turkey.

Her research interests include the development of optimization approaches, in particular integer and dynamic programming with applications to invasive species control, biofuel production, supply chain management and logistics, production planning, and asset management.
