WSU Engineering Scholarships

Wallace Invitational for Scholarships in Engineering (WISE)
This competition is held each November for high school seniors interested in studying engineering at WSU. Please visit the WISE page for more information, www.wichita.edu/wise.

High School Seniors - Engineering
There are still scholarship opportunities for high school seniors who do not compete at WISE or who do not receive any awards from WISE. Fill out the undergraduate engineering scholarship application. Deadline February 1.

Kansas BEST Scholarship
Students who have participated in Kansas BEST have the opportunity to apply for a 4-year renewable scholarship totaling $4,000. One to two students will be selected from the qualified applications each year. Fill out the Kansas BEST scholarship application. You will need Adobe Reader to fill out the fillable PDF application. If you have trouble using the Submit button, please e-mail this form as an attachment to engr.scholarships@wichita.edu. Deadline February 1.

Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Scholarship
Each year the national Society of Women Engineers (SWE) awards more than 100 scholarships, from $1,000 to $5,000, to full-time students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in accredited engineering programs. You can find an application form and more information at the SWE website. The freshman application opens in March and is available until May.

General WSU Scholarships

Freshman Merit Scholarships
These freshman merit scholarships are awarded to qualifying graduating high school seniors on a funds-available basis. All students who are fully admitted to WSU will be considered for scholarships based on a composite of high school GPA, ACT score and class rank. Admission application materials will be accepted after completion of the sixth semester of high school (end of Junior year).

Students who are fully admitted prior to October 1st, and who qualify for these scholarships, will receive notification by the end of October. Awarding will continue on a monthly rotation based on available funding. Visit the Office of Financial Aid site for information on university scholarships.
