The Undergraduate Peer Partners mentoring program assists new students with their transition to Wichita State University through one-on-one peer support. Incoming engineering students who participate in the Mentor UPP program are paired with a mentor who is an upperclass student in their major. The mentor provides valuable guidance, support, and encouragement throughout the new student’s first year at Wichita State.

As a new student at Wichita State, your mentor can:

  • Assist you with making the transition from high school to college.
  • Provide support and encouragement during your first year at Wichita State.
  • Give advice and offer resources to help you to be successful.
  • Help you get involved on campus.

Mentors and mentees have monthly contact throughout the year and attend group activities and campus events together. Students can contact their mentors to ask questions, seek advice, or learn about campus resources to help meet their social and academic needs.

More information will be available here soon for Fall 2018 incoming students interested in having a mentor, and for current students who are interested in becoming a mentor. If you have any questions, please contact Jason Bosch, Interim Director of Student Engagement, at jason.bosch@wichita.edu.
