Ancient Art and Architecture
Since 1987 Hemans has been Associate Director of the University of Chicago Excavations at Isthmia, Greece, and is the author of several articles on the results of the excavations, which are published in Hesperia. Recent presentations include: “The Temple of Poseidon,” at the conference ‘Antike Holztragwerke,’ held at the Technischen Universität, Munich (2007), and “The Archaic Temple of Poseidon: Problems of Design and Invention,” for the conference ‘Half a Century on the Isthmus,’ held at the American School of Classical Studies, Athens, Greece (2007). He currently serves as area head for Art History, member of the executive council of the WSU Faculty Senate, and NASAD coordinator for the School of Art and Design.
