David Brody

Classical Guitar

David Brody has been teaching classical guitar at Wichita State since 1986. His previous teaching experience includes teaching guitar at St. Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City, KS, and the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He studied with Hector Garcia at the University of New Mexico, and has done advanced work with Douglas Niedt of the University of Missouri Conservatory of Music. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education degree at Adams State College, in Alamosa, CO, and a Master of Music Education degree from the University of New Mexico. Brody has appeared in several solo and chamber recitals at WSU and at area colleges, and performs with the early music group, the Nether Consort. He has several transcriptions, arrangements and original works to his credit; these include works for voice and guitar, and flute and guitar. In addition to teaching at WSU, Brody is also the Director of Bands and Chair of the Fine Arts Department at Wellington High School, in Wellington, KS.
