John A. See Engineering Scholarship

Mr. John A. See earned a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering from Clarkson College in Potsdam, N.Y., in 1943. He came to Wichita, Kan., in 1951, after serving eight years with the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics and two years with Boeing in Seattle, Wash. His last assignment with Boeing in Wichita was as director of flight test and prototype development. Mr. See established the John A. See Health and Emergency Fund in 2007 during the “We are Wichita State” campaign for students facing serious financial crisis.

Mr. See is described by his neighbor, Jim Rhatigan, as a wonderful man who wanted to help students with no thought of recognition.


A Fairmount Society Life Member, Mr. See has two children, John and Jary. He established the John A. See Engineering Scholarship in 2011.
