Mrs. Regna Behring Whittaker graduated from Wichita State University’s nurse practitioner program in 1998. She now works in student health services on campus. Her mother, Ms. Arlene Behring, established this scholarship in her honor, as well as in memory of her late husband, Mr. William Behring. In 1946, Mr. and Mrs. Behring founded Western Uniform and Towel Service in Wichita.

The Regna L. Behring Whittaker Endowed Scholarship in Nursing is awarded to a full- or part-time student in the school of nursing. The award is made with regard to financial need, and recommendations are made by the School of Nursing’s scholarship committee.
