Commencement

The University holds two commencement ceremonies each year, one in December and one in May. All baccalaureate and master's degree candidates for spring ceremonies are eligible to participate in the May ceremony and all baccalaureate and master's degree candidates for the fall semester are eligible to participate in the December ceremony.

Baccalaureate and master's degree candidates for the summer are eligible to participate in either the preceding May or the following December ceremony.

Doctoral degree candidates are eligible to participate in their commencement ceremony held in the semester during which they complete their degree requirements (May or December). Doctoral candidates who complete their program during the summer semester are eligible to participate in the December or May ceremony following the completion of the degree requirements.

Students eligible to graduate are sent by postal mail an information brochure in late September for Fall graduation and in late February or early March for Spring graduation. The brochure includes instructions on how go to the myTools link in the myWSU portal and make reservations on line to attend the commencement ceremony.
