Graduation Deadlines

All items are due in the Graduate School office by the deadline dates shown on the printout.

Graduation Requirements:

Requirements are explained in detail in the Graduate Catalog and Graduate School website, http://www.wichita.edu/gradschool.

The following is a summary of that information.

• Formal admission to the appropriate degree program.
• Satisfactory completion of conditions of admission.
• An approved Plan of Study on file in the Graduate School.
• Satisfactory completion of prerequisite, tool or language courses.
• An Application for Degree/Exit Survey Form on file with the Graduate School.
• Appropriate enrollment in the semester of graduation.
• Removal of all prior semester incomplete grades, including thesis hours.
• Completion of all program requirements (course work, projects, comprehensive exams, thesis, dissertation, validations, etc.).
• Submission of the ETD following approval by Graduate School.
• Cumulative graduate GPA of at least 3.0 for all WSU courses on the Plan of Study and for all WSU graduate work.

Graduation Information:

Degrees are conferred at the close of summer (July), fall, (December), and spring (May) semesters, although commencement ceremonies are held only in December and May. All baccalaureate and master's degree candidates for spring graduation are eligible to participate in the May ceremony and all baccalaureate and master's degree candidates for the fall semester are eligible to participate in the December ceremony. Baccalaureate and master's degree candidates for the summer semester are eligible to participate in either the preceding May or the following December ceremony.

Doctoral degree candidates are eligible to participate in their commencement ceremony held in the semester during which they complete their program requirements (May or December). Doctoral candidates who complete their program during the summer semester are eligible to participate in the following December or May ceremony.
