The Homework Assistance Program (HAP) is funded, in part, by the U.S. Department Of Education and hosted by Wichita State University (WSU) in Wichita, Kansas. With the support of WSU and the cooperation of schools throughout the Wichita-Metro area, the program provides drop-in tutoring and homework assistance to qualifying students in grades 6 through 12 who are enrolled in one of the following pre-college programs:
Communication Upward Bound
Educational Talent Search/Project Discovery
Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP
Upward Bound Math Science
Upward Bound Wichita Prep
The Homework Assistance staff includes highly certified instructors who are full-time teachers with Wichita Public Schools as well as academically capable college students who serve as tutors and mentors. Our teachers and tutors work diligently with students to provide guided curriculum practices or help with homework assignments. In addition students receive help with test, address academic deficiencies, and provide assistance in core assignments.

The Homework Assistance Program will academically impact students towards educaitonal and personal success through a highly qualified educational staff committed to student excellence, social and cultural development; possessing strong academic skills necessary for college retention.
Participation is absolutely free to eligible students.
