
Welcome to the McNair Scholars Program website at Wichita State University. This program prepares undergraduate students for graduate studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities. For more information about joining the Program, please go to the "Qualifications" page.
The McNair Scholars Program encourages qualified college sophomores to seniors to pursue graduate studies. Named in honor of Challenger space shuttle crew member Ronald E. McNair, the Program provides services which prepare students for post baccalaureate study. In particular, students are encouraged to pursue doctoral studies as preparation for careers at the college level.
The McNair Scholars Program of Wichita State University is 100% funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
The McNair Scholars Program encourages students who are underrepresented in higher education to pursue post-baccalaureate degrees. The program focuses on African American, Hispanic/Latino, and American Indian/Alaskan Native students.
