Consultation and Technical Assistance
The Center for Urban Studies (CUS) at Hugo Wall School of Public Affairs provides governments and nonprofit organizations with consultation and technical assistance on policy and administrative matters

Recent consultation and technical assistance:

  • Assesments of the Wichita Police Department, Mid-America All-Indian Center and Exploration Place
  • Environment scan for the Wichita City Manager's Office
  • Cultural arts plan update for the City of Wichita and Sedgwick County
  • Strategic plan for the Wichita Fire Department
  • Support to the selection committee for the City of Wichita City Manager search process 

CUS also provides facilitation of focus groups, retreats and community meetings for local governing body members, nonprofit organizations and other community groups.

  • Survey and strategic planning retreat for City Clerks and Municipal Finance Officers Association of Kansas

Community Service Centers

Center for Urban Studies
The Center for Urban Studies provides applied research and community service for elected officials, state and local public managers, community organizations and professional associations throughout Kansas. 

Environmental Finance Center
The Environmental Finance Center promotes the development of financially and environmentally sustainable communities through facilitating the sharing of tools, technology and resources offered by a network of collaborators.

Kansas Public Finance Center
The center focuses on developing and implementing public strategies that promote economic vitality in Kansas and advancing the study and practice of public finance.

The Regional Economic Area Partnership guides state and national actions that affect economic development in the region. The Partnership also considers and adopts joint actions among member governments that enhance the regional economy.
