Flu Season -- Leave Advancement Policy
Due to the current flu season, the State of Kansas is instructing employees with flu-like symptoms to stay away from the workplace until they are fever free for a period of 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications.
- Contact your supervisor to report any absence from work.
- In order to be proactive during this flu season, supervisor or employee must report flu-like symptoms of the employee to Student Health Services as soon as possible. Click here to download the Influenza and Influenza-Like Illness Report form. (or pdf version)
If you don't have sufficient leave balances to cover your absence, you may qualify for Leave Advancement.
Leave Advancement is leave provided to an employee pursuant to Executive Order 09-08 and must be requested and approved in accordance with appropriate agency policies and procedures. A committee, chaired by the Director of Human Resources, may choose not to provide this leave to an employee if it is believed an employee has abused their leave privileges.
