The Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (IMfgE) Department at Wichita State University is one of four departments in the College of Engineering. The department is committed to its mission and responsibility for instruction and research in design, analysis, and operation of manufacturing and other integrated systems of people, material, equipment, and money.
The IMfgE department offers two undergraduate (B.S.) degree programs--one in Industrial Engineering and the other called Engineer for Manufacture. The Engineer for Manufacture degree is offered in collaboration with Mechanical Engineering. Both programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The department also offers three graduate degree programs--Master of Engineering Management, M.S. in IE, and Ph.D. in IE. Both IE graduate programs allow specialization in manufacturing systems, ergonomics/human factors engineering, and engineering systems.
