Information about Medical Insurance

Wichita State University requires that all international students have medical insurance. The cost of medical care in the U.S. is very expensive so we want to make sure that you are covered by insurance in the event of illness, pregnancy, or serious injury. You will be automatically charged for medical insurance when you arrive unless you can provide proof of medical insurance coverage from another provider. The cost of Wichita State’s medical insurance is US$1,248 per year and is included in the estimated expenses to attend Wichita State University. If you would prefer to use another insurance company that provides you with equal or greater coverage, you will need to obtain a Medical Insurance Waiver.

The company that provides coverage for Wichita State University students (and their family members) is United HealthCare Student Resources.   Coverage Information
