Student Organizations

Involvement at WSU

Involvement at WSU means engaging in out of the classroom experiences that provides opportunities to interact with other students, faculty and staff. Getting involved in campus life includes participating in student clubs and organizations, attending campus activities events, working with students and faculty members on service learning projects, or attending special lectures, forms, or events on campus.

WSU students have created organizations that range from creative writing and publishing to the appreciation of animation and comics. No doubt that the over 100 diverse student clubs can provide you with an unforgettable experience as a Shocker! If you cannot find a student organization that meets your interest, you can always start one of your own.

Why Should I get Involved?

Getting involved is key to your satisfaction with your WSU experience. Involvement on campus helps students gain important skills. Knowledge gained through involvement includes oral and written communication skills, the ability to make quick decisions, self-confidence, organization and time management, resourcefulness and responsibility. Joining a student organization at Wichita State University offers many advantages that you might not get if you're not involved, such as:

• Making life long friendships
• Teaches how to work with people in a group setting
• Gives insight on different people's perspectives
• Teaches teamwork and cooperation
• Teaches time management and negotiation
