We hope everyone is enjoying your summer holidays. Soon we will be entering a new school year and new international students are already arriving! The International Student Union is once again organizing the Airport Welcome Table to greet new international students as soon as they depart the airplane, welcome them to Wichita State and the region and their needs upon arrival.
The Welcome Table will be set up at Mid-Continent Airport fromTuesday, August 4th through Sunday, August 16th.
The hours will be from morning 9.30 am till 12.30 pm (or when the last plane arrives at the airport).
Many volunteers are needed for this activity and can be any international or domestic student. We especially need volunteers who have cars, although students without transportation are still very welcome. The Welcome table is usually staffed by two volunteers at a time, at least one of which should be an international student and one of which, should have a car, in shifts of at least three hours at a time. You can volunteer with a friend or we will schedule you with someone. We appreciate you volunteering for a few or several shifts over the twelve days.
A choice of one of the two MANDATORY ORIENTATION MEETINGS will be held for volunteers on as we get closer to the dates of the airport welcome table. All volunteers MUST ATTEND ONE of the Orientation Meetings or make an appointment with the Welcome Table Committee Head.
The two options for the Orientation Meetings are as follows:
(1) Friday, July 17, 2015, 12.30 to 1.30 pm, Rhatigan Student Center 266 Pike Room &
(2) Wednesday, July 24, 2015, 5.30 to 6.30 pm, Rhatigan Student Center 256, Edmiston Room

This is a very popular and significant activity for ISU.It is also a fun way to meet students – new and old - as you staff the table with returning students while answering questions and letting new students know that they are not alone. Thank you so much for giving your time to the university and its new international students! Your generosity is especially appreciated by International Education and the International Student Union.
