Welcome to the Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP, Region 5 website. We would like to thank you for taking the time to visit our website and to learn more about the GEAR UP program. We help students succeed in school and prepare for college by providing a variety of services designed to improve their personal and academic growth. We service K-12 students who are from foster, adoptive, and limited income families. Please continue to check back periodically for current updates and events!

Our Mission is...
To increase the number of students, with foster children as priority, graduating from High School and prepare them for enrollment in post-secondary education thereby, enabling children to reach their full potential and consequently improving educational and social outcomes.
Objectives...
1. Provide baseline data on youth in the State foster care system who enroll in the Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP activities.
2. Examine the impacts of participation in Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP activities on student educational expectations and preparation for college.
3. Identify Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP project strategies, models, and practices that are most effective for youth in foster care in Kansas.
