History:

The Wichita State University Child Development Center was established in January 1971, in response to a Women's Student Association telephone survey documenting a need for child care. It began in a neighborhood church with 17 children. It has steadily expanded its hours and services, moving onto campus in 1978. The present facility at 3026 E. 21st N. was dedicated in May 1991.

The CDC provides care for children of Wichita State University students, faculty, staff and alumni, and to the community at large. The CDC is licensed by the State of Kansas and continually maintains and exceeds licensing standards.
