History:

Elliott Hall is home for The Elliott School of Communication, which provides interdisciplinary programs related to broadcast journalism, electronic media, marketing communications, and print journalism. Faculty also teach courses in public speaking and operate the debate/forensics program. The student newspaper, The Sunflower, offices are also located in Elliott Hall. The building was dedicated in 1995 and is named for WSU alumnus Oliver Elliott, a longtime friend of the University and a successful businessman who acquired or initiated a succession of 20 small businesses, serving as chairman of the board or CEO of each of them. It is recognizable by its clock tower and Milton Hebald's sculpture "The Family Group".
