WSU Summer Program in Puebla, Mexico
June 15-July 27, 2013
The WSU Summer Program in Puebla, Mexico provides an excellent opportunity for students, teachers and other interested individuals to study the Spanish language, to gain the invaluable experience of living in another country and to earn college credit toward a degree or teacher certification. Students in the program spend six weeks in Puebla -- either in the Hotel Colonial, or in a private home with a Mexican family, or both. During their stay they attend daily conversation, reading, pronunciation or grammar classes taught by Wichita State faculty and local Mexican conversation directors and professors. There are also ample opportunities for students to visit nearby points of interest, including Mexico City in the interior and other historic sites. Now in its 50th year, this well-organized and well-established program allows people of all ages to enjoy a unique and rewarding educational experience.

Key Features of Summer Program 2013 in Puebla, Mexico (all included in the price):
- Six (6) credit hours, and WSU credit (no transfer required).
- WSU faculty teach most courses; a professor from Puebla teaches Mexican culture.
- Classes are given right in the hotel.
- Experience: WSU has sent students to Puebla for 50 years, and stayed in the same historic hotel, Hotel Colonial.
- "Acompañantes", conversation partners, from Puebla go out each day with a pair of WSU students (11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.). A different acompañante each day.
- Lunch conversation leaders (native speakers) at each table 1:00-2:00 p.m. Mon. through Fri.
- Choice of the Hotel Colonial all 6 weeks, a homestay all 6 weeks, or 3 weeks in each.
- Travel to Teotihuacán, Zacatlán, Mexico City, and Guanajuato included in the price of the program.
- Student medical insurance and doctor’s house calls.
COST (approximate): $4,500 for undergraduates; $4,990 for graduate students. Tuition for 6 hours is included. This does not include roundtrip airfare, books, and incidental expenses.
