Bio: Dr. Farmer has a doctorate in organizational behavior and master’s degree in management from Georgia Institute of Technology, a master’s in organizational and social psychology from Southern Methodist University, and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Tulane University. He has been with Wichita State University’s W. Frank Barton School of Business since 1999. His areas of expertise and research interests are: Employee creativity and innovation; roles and identities in work organizations; nascent entrepreneurship; management of volunteers; and power, politics and upward influence in organizations. He has been the recipient of research awards at national, regional, and university levels and has had numerous publications in academic and professional journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Decision Sciences, and the Journal of Management. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and is a member of the editorial board of the Academy of Management Journal. He also serves as ad hoc reviewer for several journals, including the Journal of Applied Psychology.
Research: Dr. Farmer has published in numerous quality venues, including the Academy of Management Journal, the Journal of Applied Psychology, the Journal of Management, Personnel Psychology, the Journal of Organizational Behavior, Nonprofit Management and Leadership, the Journal of Applied Social Psychology, and Group and Organization Management.
