Perspective students can choose between two introductory tracks:

  • PHYS 213. General College Physics I   Lab included
  • PHYS 214. General College Physics II  Lab included

  • PHYS 314. Physics for Scientists II
  • PHYS 315. University Physics Lab I
  • PHYS 316. University Physics Lab II

Required advanced labs

  • PHYS 516. Advanced Physics Laboratory
  • PHYS 517. Electronics Laboratory
  • PHYS 616. Computational Physics Laboratory

Core physics courses

  • PHYS 551. Topics in Modern Physics
  • PHYS 621.  Analytical Mechanics
  • PHYS 631.  Electricity and Magnetism
  • PHYS 641.  Thermophysics
  • PHYS 651.  Quantum Mechanics

Additional required courses

  • 10 hours of Chemistry
  • 8 additional hours of upper division Physics, (excluding PHYS 501 and 502)
  • MATH 555.Ordinary Differential Equations with Linear Algebra

ONE (1) of the following math courses

  • MATH 545. Integration Techniques and Applications
  • MATH 547. Advanced Calculus 1
  • MATH 757. Partial Differential Equations for Engineers
