The Wichita State University Kodaly Program started with a single workshop entitled A Taste of Kodaly,  in 2004. Jo Kirk was the presenter at that three-day workshop where she inspired over 50 teachers with her energetic view of Kodaly teaching.  Since that time, the program has grown to a three-level Certification Program supported by WSU, USD 259 and a PDAE Grant from the U.S. Department of Education (2008-2012).  Kirk Olson and Lisa Simmelink, both WSU music education alumni, introduced Wichita teachers to the Kodaly philosophy. Today our graduates are being recognized nationally for their excellence as Kodaly inspired teachers. Join us in 2018.
