Graduate Assistantships

Assistantships in the School of Music offer a variety of financial assistance in your time at WSU. Students who apply for a assistantship are eligible for any GTA or GSA available regardless of area. However certain assistantships have specific audition requirements for the position. Please read the job descriptions carefully for audition details.

In addition to the audition each student must submit via email or hard copy:

1) An application for assistantship, which can be found here.

This application should be uploaded to your graduate school application found here.

2) In addition to the application, as part of your application you will also submite three letters of recommendation.

The deadline for first-round consideration for admission to the School of Music graduate programs is December 15; the second-round deadline is February 15. Admission application is required before auditions are granted. 

Note: assistants granted positions with the Wichita Symphony are paid additionally by the orchestra.
