Student Support Services Departmental Goals

1. Goal: Increase retention and graduation rates of eligible students.
Action Plan:
A. Identify, select, and serve 250 low-income, first generation college students, or students with disabilities each grant year.
B. Seventy-eight percent (78%) of 250 students in all cohorts (not eligible for graduation each year) will remain enrolled at WSU and persist towards completion of their academic program.
C. Of students who did not graduate, 70% of 250 students in all cohorts will achieve minimum institutional academic standards.
D. In all cohorts, during each year of the grant period, 12% of SSS students will receive a baccalaureate degree.
Evaluation Strategy:
A. Track student eligibility criteria, documentation of assessment for academic need, and services through the Current Student Database file.
B. Monitor student enrollment through student transcripts from Registrar; and Registrar's list of coded SSS students (current and prior) who are enrolled each semester.
C. Monitor student grade point averages through student transcripts from Registrar.
D. Track student graduation through Registrar's list of students receiving a baccalaureate degree.
2. Goal: The extent to which the program has met the administrative requirements, including recordkeeping, reporting, and financial accountability.
Action Plan:
A. At the end of every grant year (August 31), produce the Annual SSS Quantitative and Qualitative Evaluation Report.
B. Ninety (90) days after the Program's grant year, complete the required annual ED Performance Report by the U.S. Department of Education deadline, meeting 100% of the Administrative requirements.
Evaluation Strategy:
A. Compile and generate reports incorporating statistical data from the Current and Prior Student Database files. Each of the three Program Component Coordinators will write separate reports, which will be printed as one report (approximately 200 pages).
B. Generate statistical reports from the student computerized database files following the ED Annual Performance Report (APR) guidelines. It is uploaded electronically prior to the deadline, and a receipt is filed in the printed version which is maintained with other APR reports.
