The Bachelor of Science in Health Science program at Wichita State University is designed for students interested in admission to clinical programs such as nursing, medical laboratory sciences, dental hygiene, medicine, pharmacy, physical therapy, physician assistant, chiropractic, etc. Baccalaureate trained graduates also seek employment in health care sectors such as pharmaceutical or hospital sales, specialists in insurance companies, science technicians or research assistants. Students focus in the basic sciences during the first two years of the program, followed by more focused study in aging studies, clinical health care management and/or public health during the last two years. Individuals holding an associate degree in a health-related field (e.g., radiologic technologists, respiratory therapists) interested in supervisory or clinical instructional positions would find this degree beneficial.
