The Bachelor of Science in Health Science program at Wichita State University provides a foundation in liberal arts and sciences, along with a core health sciences curriculum. Students will develop a broad understanding of social and scientific principles, obtain a clinical foundation, and explore political, legal, social, multicultural, and ethical issues in healthcare.

Students in this program will expand interdisciplinary understanding and collaboration among the health professions. Students also learn how to apply scientific knowledge, humanistic values, critical analysis, and a systematic approach to solving problems.

Students focus in the basic sciences during the first two years of the program, followed by more focused study in the health sciences during the last two years.

  • Acquire leadership skills. Students build personal and professional leadership, analytic and administrative skills that will allow them to serve in a leadership capacity necessary for entry-level managerial positions in the healthcare sector.
  • Flexible schedule.  Students have flexible options such as, full or part-time and online courses.
  • Prepare for graduate studies.  Students who complete the Health Science program are prepared to continue to a graduate program in Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, Nursing, Dental Hygiene and many more.  
  • Career opportunities. The Bachelor of Science in Health Science degree prepares students for careers in hospitals or doctors' offices, counseling centers, insurance companies, the pharmaceutical industry and research laboratories.

Acceptance Fee A one- time acceptance fee of $50 will be assessed once you have entered the HS program; the fee will be collected by the Registrar’s Office and be paid with the next semester’s tuition.
