On April 18, 2013, Wichita State University's College of Engineering will host the seventh annual Engineering Design and Development (EDD) Scholarship competition!
The competition, for students in the Project Lead the Way pre-engineering program, is part of students' capstone course, Engineering Design and Development. Students work in teams (up to 4 students per team) to develop a solution to an open-ended engineering problem. Students' exhibits, showcasing their projects, will be on display at the WSU Metropolitan Complex on Thursday, April 18, from 4:00-6:00 pm. Projects will be judged based on the EDD Rubric for 2013.
WSU will award a $2,000 scholarships to each first place team member; $1000 to each second place team member; and $500 to each third place team member who enrolls in one of WSU's College of Engineering programs in Fall 2013. Scholarships are renewable based on adherence to the scholarship guidelines and availability of funds.
Teams that plan to enter the EDD Competition must submit a project title, a 200-word abstract, and the names of team members no later than April 10, 2013. Registration is now closed for this year.
At the same time as the EDD Competition, students from other PLTW classes are invited to display projects from their PLTW classes. These can be individual or team entries (up to 4 students per team). TENTATIVE submission categories are:

To enter, a team must complete an online submission form and a one-paragraph description of their project. Entries must be received no later than April 10, 2013. Registration is now closed for this year.
