According to the WSU Policy and Procedure Manual, University Police are responsible for unlocking exterior doors of university buildings on weekdays and weekends as defined in University Reservations Office. Faculty or staff requiring access to labs, offices and other specially equipped rooms will be unlocked according to Labs, Offices and Other Specialty Equipped Rooms. Special requests and/or questions about unlocking doors should be directed to Christy West, telephone 978-5571.
Faculty, staff or students with an interior door key and who have signed the After Hours Access log located at the University Police Department, will be let into buildings. University Police Officers do not unlock office doors unless there is an emergency.
As a general rule, campus buildings are unlocked by 6:00 am, Monday - Friday. Exterior doors are locked by University Housekeeping personnel at the end of classes, or at other arranged times.
