The WSU Psychology Department team is comprised of 17 faculty members, three regular lecturers, two office staff professionals, and 67 active graduate students. In 2008, our Psychology Department team produced 22 professional scientific publications, 67 presentations at professional social-science meetings, and obtained a total of 31 grants worth over six-million dollars ($6,204,248).

- Congratulations to Doug Fox for winning one of eight Google Scholar awards from a worldwide competition for Google Interns. Only 8, of the hundreds that apply, are recipients of a $10,000 scholarship to be used for any educational purpose. Applicants are judged on their research and leadership qualities. Doug Fox was one of the lucky 8 recipients of the Google Scholarships. He was awarded the scholarship in September and will receive the scholarship in October.
- School is back in session, and parents hope their children choose friends who are a good influence. Wichita State University child psychologist Dr. Jim Snyder says, for parents, that means being aware of their child's friends and what they're doing.
