Applying for Graduate Study in
the Department of Psychology

When applying for graduate study in Psychology at Wichita State University you must submit applications to both the Graduate School and the Department of Psychology.

Your application will not be processed until all of the following is received:

  • official transcripts from the university(ies) you attended
  • official GRE scores (Verbal & Quantitative)
    • Clinical Program also requires Analytical scores.
  • completed WSU Graduate School Online Application
  • completed Psychology Department Online Application

Step 1: Complete WSU Graduate School Online Application

Official GRE scores should be sent directly from the testing service. Two (2) official copies of transcripts from ALL colleges/universities you have attended should be sent to:

Step 2: Complete Psychology Department Online Application

Please note that the Psychology Department Online Application is different from the Graduate School Online Application

In the Psychology Department Online Application, you will provide your educational background, personal statement information, accomplishments, and names/emails of your references. A minimum of 3 letters of recommendation are required. The Psychology Department Online Application cannot be submitted until all required information is provided. You may begin your Psychology Department Online Application at any time and save it in an incomplete state. It will not be reviewed until the completed application is submitted.

Jan 15th, 2017 Community completed application material due
Jan 15th, 2017 Human Factors completed application material due
April 1st, 2017 Admissions and assistantship decisions communicated to applicants
April 15th, 2017 Deadline for student acceptances of offers tendered by Department of Psychology


Financial Support

We make effort to provide students with financial support at the highest level possible. Financial assistance may come in the form of scholarship, teaching or research assistantship, or College Work Study support. Students receiving work study support often perform the same duties as teaching or research assistants. At the time of completing this application you are strongly urged to complete the standard FAFSA financial aid form
