Department Seeks Director of Clinical Training

 

The Department of Psychology at Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas seeks an experienced, licensed or licensable in Kansas clinical psychologist with demonstrated leadership skills to direct, administrate and supervise its APA approved community oriented clinical psychology program. Appointment will be at the rank of Associate or Full Professor beginning in the fall of 2013. The Director of Clinical Training will teach basic and applied courses and be available to provide clinical supervision. The program embraces a model that blends elements of clinical and community psychology. Candidates must be committed to clinical research, practice, and teaching from a scientist-practitioner and community psychology or action-research vantage point. The successful candidate will have highly developed clinical and teaching skills and a well established research program. Applicants must have a Ph.D.in clinical psychology from an APA accredited program with an APA or APPIC approved internship. Specialist status in Clinical Psychology, ABPP, is preferred. Applicants should have an ability to attract external funding, the capacity to interact collegially, a commitment to teaching both under graduate and graduate students, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity.

The Department is research oriented with external funding. Wichita State University is located in the state’s largest city and major industrial metropolitan areas with a population of over half a million. The Department has strong connections with the city’s educational, social service, and mental health communities.
