Self-Paced Internet Educational Strategies

Since the mid-90s I have been involved in developing strategies for computer-based course delivery. My current focus is on self-paced, internet-only course delivery. The current model being used works well and involves home-based open-text quizzing followed by a monitored final exam that is heavily weighted. A critical feature of the model’s success appears to be structured learning objectives which require good mastery of the course material yet allow students to maintain high internal locus of control regarding grade outcome. Now in the twilight of my academic career, my duties are primarily administrative.
