My research interests have to do with the problem of monitored assessment with on-line education. In traditional classes examinations over material to be learned are administered in tightly secured and monitored settings. The question is how the integrity of knowledge assessment is to be properly maintained with online courses. At present I require students to take exams under monitored conditions in the manner of traditional classes. This approach is a hybrid between traditional and fully on-line approaches. I am interested in ways in which the monitored component can be dropped without loss of assessment integrity.
