Appropriate test scores or placement test results are required to take English and Math courses. The ACT test is also given on-campus. Contact the Counseling & Testing Center, 978-3440, for dates and times.
Students who have NOT taken the ACT test will take the English Placement Test (cost, $4). TOEFL and EPE scores do not substitute for the English Placement Test.
Students not meeting the prerequisites for placement in ENGL 015, 100, 101 and 102 will be transferred to an appropriate level or administratively withdrawn.
Appropriate ACT or Math Placement Test results are a requirement for enrollment in MATH 012 or 112, in addition to the course prerequisites. It is the student's responsibility to provide verification of ACT-Math scores or Math Placement Test results when requested.
With appropriate ACT Math and/or Math Placement Test results, and prerequisite coursework, students may enroll as follows:
MATH 011 may be used in place of one unit of HS algebra; MATH 012=2nd year of HS algebra.
College credit is not awarded for MATH 011 or 012 and they are offered only on a credit/non-credit grading basis.
Students not meeting the prerequisites for placement in MATH 012 or 111 will be transferred to an appropriate level or administratively withdrawn.
