A transcript is a certified copy of a student's permanent academic record. It contains confidential information and cannot be released without the student's signed, specific request. You may print the special on-line request form and then mail it to us with the appropriate fee, or, requests may also be in letter form and should include the following:
1. Current name and any other names used on records
2. Current address and telephone number
3. Social Security number
4. Date of birth
5. Semester/year of last attendance at WSU
6. Number of transcripts needed and where they are to be sent
7. Whether you want a transcript of your complete record, just your undergraduate record, or just your graduate school record.
PLEASE NOTE: Effective July 1, 2006, transcript requests made by mail or fax must be accompanied by a readable copy of government-issued photo identification such as driver’s license, passport or military ID. Without this ID, your request will not be processed.
Beginning Fall 2008, free transcripts (limit 5) will be available for currently enrolled seniors who are sending a transcript directly to a Graduate School, Law School, or Medical School (or the admission service for same) OR for students who are graduating with a Baccalaureate or higher degree at the end of the current semester (after their degree has been posted). There is a limit of 5 per person for those free transcripts.
Current enrollment for a semester/term starts the first day of classes for that semester/term, and extends until classes begin for the next semester/term.
Special processing and mailing fees (see below) are never free. People eligible for free transcripts must mail or fax a request form to the Registrar’s Office before the start of regular classes for the next term.
Transcript/Certification Fees are:
Regular processing (3-5 days), then sent by 1st class mail $ 8 each
ADDITIONS to the $ 8:
Expedited same day processing, if request received by 2:00 PM CST $ 10 per order
Also FAX to a USA phone number (unofficial copy) $ 5 per order
Also FAX to an International phone number (unofficial copy) $ 10 per order
Sent by Priority Mail (USA, 2-3 days) $ 5 per order
Sent by Express Mail within USA (next business day, most USA locations) $ 15 per order
Sent by FEDEX within USA (delivered next business day) $ 15 per order
Sent by FEDEX or equivalent (outside USA) $ 40 per order
NOTE: An “order” is each unique address to which a transcript is to be sent. Three transcripts, all sent to the same address at the same time, would be one order.
If students order transcripts before the end of a semester or summer in which they are enrolled, they should indicate whether or not they want the request held until their grades for that term have been posted to their record. If graduating, the student should indicate if the transcripts should be held until the degree statement has been posted.
Pick up transcript service is available when the Registrar's Office is open, except during registration weeks (see "Expedited Service" fee, above). A person ordering or picking up a transcript in person must have identification. No one else, including spouse or parent, can pick up your transcript without written permission from you. Transcripts picked up by or sent directly to the student are stamped "Issued to Student." Some institutions will not accept a transcript that is "Issued to Student." If a current or former student has any kind of unmet obligation to the University, transcript services are withheld.
