In the last 50 years, the Rhatigan Student Center has been a central gathering place for students, faculty, staff and the community. Some things have changed over the years. Needs and uses of the facility have evolved and now the building is in desperate need of a "facelift." Just like a person who has a facelift, the exterior surface may change, but the heart and soul remain the same. The namesake of the Rhatigan Student Center Jim Rhatigan stated, "I believe that 100,000 students, faculty, staff and visitors use the RSC each month and have done so for 50 years. I would have to say that through careful stewardship the building has held up wonderfully. I am delighted that an effort is being made to upgrade the center to serve students decades into the future."
"Around here we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious... and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." - Walt Disney
