South Central Kansas Writing Project (SCKWP)
Welcome to our official web presence. This website that is housed within Wichita State University will be our main and official web page that we use on all of our correspondence. We have several additional web spaces that we use to do our work. These spaces have specific purposes and are utilized for all of our SCKWP members to share and work on their writing.
Our SCKWP Wiki is the main repository and communication forum for our annual Summer Institute and Advanced Seminars. We maintain our agendas, information, logger notes, teacher demos, and collect our writing for our annual SI anthology. At the end of each year the previous year's material is archived and saved in a folder and the current year is highlighed in the navigation.
Class Blogmeister is the introductory blog that is utilized in our annual SCKWP Summer Institute and Advanced Seminars. This blog is a way that SI participants can share their writing and get comments from others. We ask SI participants to choose some of their best writing to submit to the National Writing Project eAnthology each summer. We utilize Class BLogmeister in addition to the eAnthology for a couple of reasons:
- The NWP eAnthology is only available during the summer. We want a place for our participants to continue to blog throughout the advanced seminars in the fall and spring after their SI experience.
- Class Blogmeister is available for free for teachers to use in their K12 classrooms. We hope that by utilizing this tool in the SCKWP SI that teachers will have a model to extend publishing writing through blogging to their own classrooms.
Our newest web space is our SCK Writing Project Ning. This space designed as a place for all of our participants to continue to build a community of writers and continue the journey that the SI started. WE ARE WRITERS!
