Student Wellness Action Team (S.W.A.T.) is a student-led organization focusing on the health and wellness of the campus community. The group is advised by Student Health Services, Counseling and Testing and Campus Recreation departments.
We organize and promote activities, events and presentations that interest college students in a holistic manner.
We focus on promoting healthy choices in every aspect of life including physical, nutritional, and emotional health. We are known to create handouts with information on issues such as mental health, safe sex, STD awareness, safe dieting, alcohol awareness and early cancer detection.
We also collaborate with other campus departments, student organziations and the Wichita community to bring awareness to healthy lifestyles.
Each year, S.W.A.T. organizes Big Pink Volleyball, a volleyball tournament and philanthropic event to raise funds for breast cancer charities.
Becoming a member of S.W.A.T. is an opportunity to connect to the campus and meet new people.
Joining the group is free. Meetings are held at 3 p.m. every Thursday in 209 Ahlberg Hall, Student Health Services Conference Room.
Membership is open to all Wichita State University undergraduate and graduate students. Membership will not be denied to any person because of age, race, gender, religion, disability, national origin or sexual orientation.
