Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP (KK@GU)
With foster children as a priority, this program works to increase the number of first-generation, low-income students from K-12 to graduate from high school and are prepared for enrollment in post-secondary education
North Wichita GEAR UP
North Wichita GEARUP is an exclusive cohort program that served 8th grade students from fall 2013 enrolled at Hadley, Hamilton, Marshall, Mead and Pleasant Valley middle schools in Wichita. The program continued when students enroll at Wichita North or Wichita West high schools.
South Wichita GEAR UP
South Wichita GEARUP is an exclusive cohort program that served 8th grade students from fall 2013 enrolled at Coleman, Curtis, Jardine and Truesdell middle schools in Wichita. The program continued when students enroll at Wichita South or Wichita Southeast high schools.
Office of Disability Services (ODS)
ODS enables the students, staff, faculty and guests of WSU to achieve their educational goals by providing and coordinating accessibility services which afford individuals with learning, mental or physical disabilities, the equal opportunity to attain these goals.
Communication Upward Bound (CUB)
The TRIO Communication Upward Bound program offers eligible first-generation, low-income youth in the Wichita area an opportunity to sharpen their communication skills and learn how to work with and write for varied media outlets, while graduating high school and continuing on to college.
Disability Support Services (DSS)
TRIO Disability Support Services (DSS) assists WSU undergraduate students who have learning, physical, and psychological disabilities to graduate with a degree in a timely fashion.
Educational Opportunity Centers Program (EOC)
The WSU Educational Opportunity Centers Program provides free counseling and assistance on college admissions for eligible first-generation and low-income adults who want to improve their job opportunities through high school, GED or college education.
Educational Talent Search/Project Discovery (ETS/PD)
TRIO Talent Search is a federally-funded program designed to prepare and motivate eligble low-income and first-generation middle school and high school students for postsecondary education.
McNair Scholars Program
The mission of the McNair Scholars Program is to encourage WSU students who are underrepresented in higher education to pursue post-baccalaureate degrees and ultimately earn a doctoral degree.
Student Support Services (SSS)
Student Support Services provides services to first-generation, low-income students, and students with disabilities, focusing on assisting WSU students to reach their academic goals, stay in school and graduate.
Upward Bound Math/Science (UBMS)
The TRIO Upward Bound Math Science Center (UBMS) prepares low-income and first-generation high school students to pursue degrees and careers in math and science.
Upward Bound Wichita Prep (UBWP)
The Upward Bound Wichita Prep program provides an infrastructure that helps eligible low-income and first-generation students to prepare for post-secondary education, complete secondary school and acquire skills and abilities for educational success.
Veterans Upward Bound (VUB)
The Veterans Upward Bound program (VUB) is an educational and skill program designed specifically to serve the needs of eligible low-income and first-generation veterans.
