Home to campus health and fitness, campus recreation is based in the Heskett Center. Students can participate in intramural athletics, consult with a personal trainer, get a massage, or take a Shocker Fit class in one of our state-of-the-art facilities. Students with a myWSU ID gain free access to the Heskett Center, including: five convertible basketball/volleyball/badminton courts; 200 meter indoor track; three Shocker fitness studios; Aquatic Center; racquetball courts; 25-foot climbing wall; weight room; cardiovascular room; and six outdoor lighted tennis courts.
Child Development Center
Wichita State University’s Child Development Center offers the highest quality childcare and early child development services to the WSU community at an affordable cost.
Counseling and Testing Center
In addition to affordable counseling services, this office assists students in earning credit from the following areas: Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, SAT, ACT, CLEP and more.
Housing and Residence Life
Housing and Residence Life is committed to promoting the total University experience by providing a supportive living environment. The department offers two unique communities which are intentionally designed to foster academic success, personal growth and civic responsibility.
Office of Diversity and Inclusion
Promoting a campus environment of all-inclusive global diversity, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) hosts a variety of free cultural events and speakers and provides students with an on-campus space to for socializing and studying. Coordinated by OMA, the Multicultural Student Mentoring Program (MSMP) is designed to assist underrepresented freshmen and new transfer students in achieving their academic goals.
Student Health Services
The nurses and physicians at Student Health Services provide medical care and treatment for ill and injured students. Additional services include health and wellness education, nutrition counseling, annual exams and limited pharmacy services.
Extracurricular involvement is key to being a happy and successful student. Student Involvement coordinates civic engagment and leadership opportunities, Greek life (fraternities and sororities), Student Activities Council, Student Government Association and more than 150 registered student organizations.
